This scholarship shall be made only to first generation students enrolled in the College of Education who have demonstrated an interest in working in an urban setting upon graduation. Candidate must be a sophomore currently enrolled in the College of Education.
The recipient shall receive $1,000 during their junior year, and shall receive an additional $1,000 during their senior year provided they maintain full-time enrollment and a 2.8 cumulative grade point average. The recipient shall receive an additional $500 during the semester in which they conduct their student teaching, provided that the location is in an urban school district.”

It honors Jenny Lange, a graduate of UW-W who worked as an Early Childhood Special Education Consultant with the Wisconsin DPI for over 20 years and served as the Wisconsin Division for Early Childhood DPI Liaison. It promotes Jenny's vision of working or volunteering in inclusive settings where young children with disabilities play or work alongside peers without disabilities. It recognizes students who are working or volunteering in organizations that maximize a child or family's full participation in family-identified meaningful activities.”

“The Peter Hoff Study Abroad Scholarship was established by emeritus professor of Languages & Literatures, Peter Hoff. Professor Hoff came to Whitewater in 1987, and from 1994 to 2018, served as the World Languages Coordinator. This scholarship funds longer term (semester or year-long) international study for world language majors. Professor Hoff encourages longer language and cultural immersion to achieve a high level of language proficiency and cultural awareness.”
