Overview
Wisconsin is home to thousands of schools in hundreds of districts doing incredible work in the space of multilingual education. The goal is to highlight some of this work and show the diverse array of programs offered. This is by no means a complete list of every program in the state. The focus is on unique programming, meaning courses commonly offered, such as Spanish 1, are not necessarily covered in this section. If you know of a school/district/city doing inspiring work in multilingual education that is not included, please send in a suggestion. Note that certain schools/districts (such as Barron or Waadookodaading) are featured within history pages rather than having dedicated pages within the spotlight section.
Taking a language course is not a graduation requirement for the state, meaning language courses are often competing against other electives for space in students’ schedules. Read More (around page 13): Wisconsin Language Roadmap
